Her family wasn’t in any way wealthy, but they were content. In the early 1980’s her father decided to move the family from Illinois to California and although the move was difficult, Denise had her sister to share the experience with her. It was in Oceanside, California where her family started their own coffee shop business which flourished into a franchise.
