People use the word ‘exotic’ in many different ways but when it comes to traveling we find this definition most apt: “Attractive, striking, or out of the ordinary”. When people go on vacation they want to head somewhere exotic in order to feel alive, inhale a new culture, and forget the stress and worries that they are leaving behind — if only for the length of their vacations. However, it’s always hard to settle on the next great vacation destination. That’s why we took a moment to compile 10 of the worlds most exotic, gorgeous, and entertaining destinations for you to see. Pack your bags, buy your airline tickets, and start looking up the best hotels around — because we’re about to take a trip.

The Serengeti

If you want to feel transported to a different world, and a different time, then look no further than Africa’s Serengeti. The Serengeti is a gigantic ecosystem located in Africa, surrounding Tanzania and reaching all the way to southwest Kenya. Over 500 different species of birds are located in this area as well as another 70 different kinds of ‘large’ mammals which include gazelles, zebras, buffalos, elephants and more. With striking vistas, beautiful wildlife, and an absolute disconnect from the conventionality of modern man, the Serengeti is a transformative vacation option. You can find any number of cheap hotels near the various National Parks in the area and your vacation will be nearing an end before you know it due to all of the sights you will see. This is an adventure vacation too and not one for those content to lay about.

You’re blown away, aren’t you? Mount Roraima is located in Eastern Venezuela on the border of both Brazil and Guyana. The tabletop mountains located in the Highland Range, near Canaima National Park, are considered the oldest locations on Earth and they make such a beautiful sight. This is another one of our adventurous vacation trips so be prepared, you won’t be spending a week on a Caribbean yacht rental. Instead you can stay at a local hotel and enjoy days of beautiful hiking in this breathtaking area. The trails aren’t hard and the views are rewarding every step of the way.

American Samoa

There’s nothing wrong with taking a yacht charter Caribbean cruise but our ideal beach getaway will take you to the South Pacific. The most remote American National Park in the world exists in American Samoa near the capital of Pago Pago. American Samoa is located across three different volcanic islands and the view is as blissful and gorgeous as you would expect. Lush mountain peaks, endless beach vistas, and forested inland terrain allow you to feel like you are in a different world all without having to abandon your own language. There are beautiful rainforests and a beautiful and diverse system of plant life. There are only a few thousand people that visit this region each year as tourists so you’ll always be getting the best treatment while never feeling crowded.

Angkor Wat

For our next vacation we strongly urge globetrotters to consider heading to Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Drawing almost half a million tourists a year, Angkor Wat has become a true destination for people looking to relive the past while settling into one of the more exotic places in the region. This giant Hindu temple is filled with statues and ancient reliefs along with sprawling buildings, all nestled in a beautiful forest. The temple itself is still in use today with celebrations, ceremonies, and observations occurring by both Hindus and Buddhists. Located outside of Siem Reap, Angkor Wat is just one of many different temples that history loving tourists can go visit. Others include Ta Prohm Temple, known for its usage in the film Tomb Raider, as well as Angkor Thom and the Bayon Temples. Be sure to dress appropriately though, the heat of Cambodia’s plains can be absolutely stifling so be sure to get up early and hit all of the hot spots before the sweat starts pouring in.
