Sepulveda was born in the Dominican Republic in 1984. Along with her mother and her sister, Samantha moved to the United States when she was five years old.

Why America?
Samantha’s mother had a very good reason why she wanted to move along with her daughters to the United States. She managed to secure a job in an American factory, and she believed that living in the U.S. would offer her daughters better opportunities in education and future careers.
